Natural history

British Entomological & Natural History Society (England) — A society for both amateur and professional entomologists, and those interested in other branches of natural history. The objectives of the society are principally the promotion and advancement of research in entomology with an increasing emphasis now being placed on the conservation of the fauna and flora of the United Kingdom and the protection of wildlife throughout the world.
The Linnean Society of London (England) — The society uniquely embraces the entire sweep of biology, and particularly biological diversity and evolution. Most of its membership, whether professional or amateur, is concerned with biological systematics or taxonomy, which involves the examination and collation of a wide range of scientific evidence from such fields as genetics, ecology, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and palaeontology and impinges on related disciplines in agriculture, fisheries, forestry, geology, medicine, parasitology and veterinary science where accurate identification is essential to any research.
The Society for the History of Natural History (England) — The only international society devoted to the history of botany, zoology and geology, in the broadest sense, including natural history collections, exploration, art and bibliography.

Entomology

Alexei Kouprianov Entomology Circle (St. Petersburg, Russia) — The circle unites people studying insects, spiders, and other terrestrial and freshwater arthropods.
Association Roussillonnaise d’Entomologie — Founded by some amateur entomologists of the area of Perpignan, France on 27 June 1990.
Entomological Society of America (USA) — The largest organisation in the world serving the professional and scientific needs of entomologists and colleagues in related disciplines.
Entomological Society of Canada — One of the largest and oldest professional societies in Canada. Founded in Toronto on 16 April 1863, the society was open to all students and lovers of entomology.
Entomological Society of Latvia — Unites entomologists, arachnologists and other invertebratologists from Latvian and the World since 1951. LEB is a discussion club for scientists and applied biologists, nature managers. It publishes scientific journals, first of all Latvijas Entomologs, and distributes knowledge to wide society through mass media.
Entomological Society of Pennsylvania — One of the oldest entomological societies in the United States.
Entomological Society of Victoria — Welcomes professional, amateur and student entomologists as members. Produces the Victorian Entomologist, a news bulletin.
Entomologischer Verein Apollo (Frankfurt a. M., Germany) — This entomological society exists more than 100 years in the city of Frankfurt-am-Main.
Finnish Entomological Society — Works as a bond uniting professional entomologists with amateurs and promotes research in entomology.
Florida Entomological Society — Founded by a small group of naturalists at the University of Florida in 1916 to promote and stimulate interest in the field of entomology among Floridians.
Kansas Entomological Society — Provides a forum for entomologists and welcomes as members all persons interested in insects or other terrestrial arthropods, their ecology, behaviour, systematics, physiology, control, conservation.
Lancashire and Cheshire Entomological Society — Founded in 1877 the Lancashire and Cheshire Entomological Society has had a great number of influential entomologists as members and continues to do so today.

Österreichische Entomologische Gesellschaft (Austria) — Promotion of entomology in Austria, communication among entomologists, conservation efforts and public relations, journal Entomologica Austriaca.
Royal Entomological Society (London, England) — Founded in 1833 as the Entomological Society of London, the Royal Entomological Society plays a major national and international role in disseminating information about insects and improving communication between entomologists.
Societe d’Entomologie africaine (Belgium) — An entomological society specialising in African Coleoptera and Lepidoptera. The society publishes the entomological journal Entomologia Africana.
Société Royale Belge d’Entomologie (Belgium) — A non-profit making organisation established since 9 April 1855. Its aim is to encourage the study of insects through activities, publications and educational material.
The Entomological Society of Ontario (Canada) — An active society, dedicated to furthering entomology through annual meetings and publications.
The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation (USA) — An international nonprofit organisation dedicated to protecting biological diversity through invertebrate conservation.

Lepidopterology

Arbeitsgemeinschaft Hessischer Lepidopterologen (Germany) — This study group is a volunteer cooperation (by amateur as well as professional entomologists) on the moth and butterfly fauna of the federal state of Hesse, Germany.
Ark Valley Butterfly Club — A former chapter of NABA.
Association for Tropical Lepidoptera (Florida, USA) — A non-profit scientific society and educational membership organisation, founded in 1989 to promote the study and conservation of Lepidoptera worldwide, especially in the tropical regions of the world. Societas Europaea Lepidopterologica — Founded in 1976 with the aims of promoting collaboration among the lepidopterists of Europe, Western Asia and North Africa, and of promoting conservation of Lepidoptera and their habitats. The society now has in excess of 700 members.
